This book examines the occurrence of diamond and coesite in the Earth's crust and thus defines an entirely new field of metamorphism - ultrahigh pressure metamorphism (UHPM). In doing so, it provides insights into the formation of diamond and coesite at very high pressures and the tectonic setting of this style of metamorphism.
