This international conference brought together teacher-researchers from 23 countries to consider how research in the language classroom can lead to more effective student learning, continuing personal and professional development and high quality research. Based on reports of actual experience, valuable insights were exchanged into the link between teachers finding out more about their learners and teachers establishing ways in which they can take charge of their own continuing development, both cooperatively and individually.
