In 1963, shortly after graduating from Cornell, Richard Meier commenced his architectural career with a series of private houses which constituted a new typological contribution to 20th-Century residential architecture. In the intervening years, Meier's professional career has been highly productive, and he has successfully consolidated his own personal style in a great variety of works and projects, both in the United States and in Europe, with commissions for public buildings, cultural centres and museums and corporate headquarters for major international companies.
