This book reflects the undemanding concepts of Portmeirion Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, the gifted creator of Portmeirion, himself described his intentions as being of a gay, light-opera sort of approach. His aim was to indirectly provoke visitors to the village to share his great passion for architecture, even though their own agenda might have been merely to bathe, or to eat. Rob Piercy who has grown up in the light of this special place has created a personal, light-hearted insight into his Portmeirion, a perspective which spans several decades. He recalls that his first reaction at seeing Portmeirion was one of astonishment a village, two miles from his home, holding so much originality, colour and fun. Fifty years on, Rob still feels a close affinity to the place, and has a gallery at the Pantheon. This is a collection of his images and his thoughts while wandering through the decades.
