Depression is likely a combination of biochemical, physical, genetic, nutritional, and psychological factors. It is clear that a new treatment model is needed for practicing clinicians. In order for medical professionals to effectively treat their patients, an integrative approach based on biochemical individuality and laboratory testing should be implemented in treatment.
