Biegman presents a vivid picture of popular Islamic mysticism as practiced in Macedonia today, providing a rare view of traditional Sufism in contemporary Europe. During a stay of more than two years in Skopje, Biegman became close to the Sufi community there, and was allowed to take the photographs included in this book.
