It also provides the scientific principles behind measuring work. All engineers are engaged in designing work and evaluating designs no matter what their specialization is. All engineers must understand the work design process and how to measure in terms of time requirements and efficiency. No book like this currently exists. The rationale is to provide information that "every engineer should know".
