This is an edited collection of chapters detailing research on modern family and household living arrangements, mainly in Great Britain but also with some reference to Germany. There are chapters on changes in the care for the elderly, financial support to and from young adults living at home, lone parents and single householders, and the way in which households divide and arrange domestic labour and formal paid employment.
