The history of the earliest Christianity has only been made the object of a coherent account a few times. One will often find descriptions of the New Testament period, that is, the political, cultural, social and religious conditions that prevailed when Christianity arose among the Jews and spread to the Greco-Roman world. There are also numerous accounts of the ancient history of Judaism and of Greek and Roman history. But there are surprisingly few accounts of the history of the earliest Christianity itself in the course of its time. And yet, Christianity has been of historical dimensions from the very beginning. The book demonstrates historical connections between ancient Judaism and the earliest Christianity. It describes the history of Christianity as a dynamic development and gives a better understanding of Christianity and its beginning. The book covers the entire historical course during the period from 200 BC to 150 AD when Christianity came into and became part of the Greco-Roman civilisation.
