Wike was educated at the University of California at Los Angeles, where he received his Ph.D. in experimental psychology in 1952. He has contributed many articles to psychology journals and is currently Professor of Psychology, University of Kansas. He was a member of American Psychology Association, Sigma Xi, as well as the Psychonomic Society. He was named Outstanding Educator in America in 1975.
