A busy market town on the River Skerne, Darlington has a long and interesting history. Claiming to be the 'Birthplace of the Railways' and home over the centuries to a variety of industries, including textiles and leather, the town has always revolved around a very strong local community. This book, complete with more than 200 photographs from over the last 150 years, explores Darlington's past, looking at the people, buildings and industries that shaped the modern town.
