This book approaches questions relating to the theory and practice of curriculum through the application of Habermas's theory of knowledge constitutive interests. The curriculum implications of the technical, practical and emancipatory cognitive interests are examined theoretically. Each theoretical chapter is followed by one which examines case examples of curriculum practices which can be interpreted as being informed by the particular cognitive interest being discussed.
