Cultural geography is concerned with making sense of people and the places they occupy through analyses and understandings of cultural processes, cultural landscapes, and cultural identities. It is also concerned with culture as a causal mechanism (especially the geographic expression of culture in landscape) and cultural politics (especially the social and spatial constitution of culture). Increasingly, these cultural concerns are at the forefront of much contemporary geographic study.
