This text provides 30 motivating lessons for middle-intermediate ESL/EFL students in conversation classes. The course is aimed at making the learner sound more natural in everyday conversations. Each lesson is based upon an amusing conversation, followed up by practice sessions to focus on the lexical phrases needed to perform the conversational functions taught in that lesson. The essential functions covered include: reminding and remembering; prioritizing; being tactful; explaining difficult things; being enthusiastic; comforting; showing disagreement; and being discreet.
