Aggravation. Scuffle. A fight at a local Chinese restaurant in Middlesbrough. A man is injured badly. Two young men are involved but only one ends up in prison. Escape for the other, of sorts, yet it is a freedom full of burden. Out of the blue, a figure from the family past arrives and another kind of escape is on offer as Bad Weather moves from what appears to be familiar territory into a new and sometimes astonishing landscape. Bad Weather explores, through its characters, the nature of violence and the possibility of redemption.
