Originally published in 1993, Applying the Children Act (1989) in Boarding and Residential Environments identifies many of the key issues which arise in caring for children away from home. These issues are examined, using the framework of The Children Act and its implementation. The concerns analysed and the questions addressed are essentially practical. However, given the broad sweep of the subject, the book is likely to be of interest to many others than practitioners involved in educating or caring for children.
