"History in fashion, fashion in history" is a collection that brings together a group of researchers concerned with some sectors that are still "dormant" in historiography, establishing an intimate correlation between History and Fashion. From a simple term, meaning the current and adopted use of dressing, in certain ways, gestures, studies and exercises, fashion became a concept, as it constituted, through a new historical experience, some of its characteristics that became they have been making gifts for a long time. Definitely, a new look at fashion was being constructed, as an extraordinary revision in its interpretation, as an element linked to power, culture, society and the economy. And it was in this approach that historiography began here and there to present some works, which, although still scarce, reflect the richness of an intriguing object of research."-- Page 2 of cover.
