This beautiful area along the shores of Carlingford Lough is home to the legend of Queen Maeve of Connacht who fought Cù Chulainn and the men of Ulster for the brown bull of Cooley. Toursism is on the rise here and with good reason, Cooley Distillery produces some of Ireland s finest whiskey, the once famed oysters are being bred again in Carlingford Lough and the area has many a fine castle for the tourist to explore.
