Louis Blerot was the first person to fly across the English Channel in an aeroplane. That is all that is generally remembered about him today. His flight had a huge impact on Britain, but Blerot's life was not only about this flight. He was a renowned inventor and businessman who created the Type XI, the Model T Ford of the aeroplane world.
