Detalles del libro
A great way of learning about Britain, in particular about London while improving your language skills. A group of teenagers from different European countries go to London during the summer for a whole month. Their holiday, similar to that of many foreign language students of their age, is about discovering a new city, its people and a different way of life. The teenagers' 'story' is entwined with highlights of London and its surroundings. There are windows on the various literary figures related to the city as well as curiosities such as 'What do you say if you meet the Queen?' and 'What do you say if you meet another member of the Royal Family'? The activities, which are interspersed throughout the eight units of the book, are balanced in such a way as to enable students to practise all the four language skills: listening, speaking, writing and reading, as well as practising specific grammar points. A special feature of the book is the itineraries which give students the opportunity of organising outings and trips by using the web. Students studying for the Cambridge Preliminary Language Test will also find some PET-style activities.
