Located in a mountain of impressive relief and spectacular shapes, the monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat has lived a long history which has led it to grow as a popular sanctuary, to develop as a very relevant cultural focus, to overcome almost total destruction and to become a point of reference for the country. Through all these circumstances, it has never ceased to be a community of faith that has faithfully persevered under the rule of Saint Benedict for a thousand years. The works of art preserved in the monastery take it upon themselves to tell with their testimony this millennial history.
